Symbolism of Pharmacy
Pharmacy is symbolized by the Bowl of Hygeia, representing the Greek goddess of health. The bowl signifies a medicinal potion, while the serpent denotes healing—highlighting that even venom, in the right dosage, can be therapeutic.
The modern version replaces the serpent with a twig of medicinal herbs, symbolizing nature, longevity, and sustainability. The plant motif reflects strength, rootedness, and a lasting connection to the natural world—an ethos central to pharmacy.
